PROFILE

Dr. Gupta is Assistant Chief, Neurology Service at Hines VA Hospital and Professor of Neurology at neighboring Loyola University Medical Center. Dr. Gupta’s area of research interest is stroke prevention, management and recovery. She has participated in various NIH studies and multi-center VA cooperative studies like Stroke Prevention in Atrial Fibrillation, Role of Carotid Endartectomy in Symptomatic and Asymptomatic Carotid Artery Stenosis, and the African American Antiplatelet Stroke Prevention Study. Dr. Gupta has also received funding from VA Merit Review to carryout her research in predicting recovery after stroke and treatment of aphasia after stroke. Dr. Gupta has authored over 30 publications, which discuss her research findings.
