Robert Hariman, MD
Dr. Hariman is Director, Cardiac Electrophysiology at Hines VA Hospital and Professor of Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center. His research focus includes extracellular recording of the sinus node and other cardiac pacemakers, measurements of extracellular potassium concentrations in the myocardium during ischemia and reperfusion, measurements of regional myocardial blood flow using radioactive microsphere technique, and microelectrode studies in the sinus node, ventricular and purkinje fibers. He has supported his research program through grants from the Banes Foundation, Boehringer Mannheim Pharmaceuticals, Chicago Heart Association, DuPont Nemours & Co., Inc., Proctor and Gamble, Searle, VA Cooperative Studies, and VA Research Advisory Group (RAG). He has written numerous articles detailing the results of his research.
