PROFILE

Frank Maldonaldo, MD

Born in Puerto Rico, Dr. Frank A. Maldonado graduated from Universidad Central Medical School, (M.D., 1982). He then moved to Washington DC and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Providence Hospital, (1986). Thereafter he fulfilled his service obligation with the National Health Service Corps until 1989. In 1991, Dr. Maldonado completed a Critical Care Fellowship at Finch University Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School, and was appointed to faculty for FUHS/CMS in 1992. He continues to this day in his academic career as Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at FUHS/CMS. In 1995 Dr. Maldonado aspired to achieve certification in pulmonary medicine and completed a Pulmonary Fellowship at FUHS/CMS (1997). He has maintained his academic appointment at FUHS/CMS, while concurrently obtaining an appointment as Chief, Medical Service at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in 2000. Dr. Maldonado’s research interest mostly includes Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Post Resuscitation Myocardial Dysfunction and Infectious Complication in the critically ill patient.
