PROFILE

Dr. Spring is a Research Health Scientist at Hines VA Hospital and Professor of Psychology at University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Spring is well known throughout the research community for her research on Cigarette Smoking and Nicotine Dependence as well as for her research on Obesity. Dr. Spring has funded her research through grants from such sources as the American Heart Association, National Institutes of Health, and VA Merit Review. During her career, Dr. Spring has been recognized with several honors. She is a Fellow in the American Psychological Society and the Society for Behavioral Medicine. She is a Diplomate in Health Psychology of the American Board of Professional Psychology. In 2001, she was named University of Illinois Scholar. Dr. Spring is a prolific author having written many journal articles and book chapters.
